Le Quartier du Flon
Le Quartier du Flon is a private district of 55'000 m², mainly pedestrian, located in the city center of Lausanne. Le Quartier du Flon is also the only flat surface of such a large size located in the center of Lausanne. Its epicenter is the Esplanade du Flon, a public square inaugurated in 2003.
Le Quartier du Flon is a former freight station, warehouse zone and free port; vestiges and pieces of tracks as well as the "Voie-du-Chariot" recall this original vocation.
